  9. Huntsville, Alabama is in North Alabama approximately twenty
  10. miles from the Tennessee border.  Including surrounding areas
  11. it has a population of a quarter million or so, many involved
  12. in high tech industry.  Jones Valley, which is only
  13. minutes from downtown, forms a part of the eastern central
  14. city limit, and is so named for the Jones family and their
  15. farm, which is still active today.  The Valley, as does
  16. Huntsville, lies between some small mountains which are
  17. actually foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains.  Calm green
  18. fenced cattle pastures rise up the sides of the mountains and
  19. meld into the trees which cover them.  There are a couple of
  20. routes through the Valley and I guess I've driven them
  21. thousands of times in my 30 years of residency in this area.
  22. The drive always serves to sooth me and gives me time to sort
  23. my thoughts and enjoy the peace and quiet.  Often I've
  24. thought of what a golf course might look like tucked amongst
  25. the trees and pastures, and this JNUG offering is based on
  26. some of those thoughts.  Though not real accurate, the
  27. background art does represent the gist of the scenery, for
  28. instance, the real expensive homes overlooking the Valley
  29. from the North, and the Jones Farm in traditional Southern
  30. architecture to the East.  The trees represent the cedars,
  31. loblolly pines and others indigenous to the area.  Hope you
  32. enjoy many rounds of JNUG golf at Jones Valley Golf Club!

  37. * The traps on this course are fairly well hidden, so consult
  38. the overhead view frequently.
  39.  
  40. * Except for the 18th, the par fives are reachable in two...I
  41. like to gamble, and like to make the rewards worthwhile.
  42.  
  43. * Water has been strategically located and will force you to
  44. lay up or gamble in some cases.
